why shoot the wolves in that case? they are doing what they are programmed to do - take out the weak from the herd to sustain it. If given the chance I would shoot a wolf to (probably only once because what use do I have for it - trapping another story) but I dont see the use in killing an animal for eating

Excellent shots!! I too would shoot a wolf but in case like this the bigger trophy would be to see that happening live. Only one in 50 million ever get the chance to see something like that so I would safety the rifle and watch.

Happens all the time time with coyotes and deer on the east coast

whats the difference between shooting them while they are hunting and when you call them in on a wolf hunt? either way you'd still be taking care of a predator

The thing would not be fit to eat , let the critters eat , its natures way. Been doing it longer than you and I have been taking in air.
I think its great, shows that the system works. Far better than seeing a starving animal that can't move under its own power. And you can count the ribs from across the valley. That is exactly what would happen if the clean up crew were not there.

Nature takes its course, the wolves are taking the weak and sick generally but that being said if it was legal to shoot 2 wolves i would for the reason of it been legal just like when we hunt for anything else, i would feel no animosity toward the wolves for what they are doing (staying alive).
