To have a good and high rate success moose hunt in MB you pretty much have to go to an area that's only accessible by float plane. Good areas are up around Thompson/Snow Lake/Lynn Lake/Leaf Rapids and some in the eastern portion along the Bloodvein, Berens and Poplar Rivers, though those areas are getting tougher. Either way, a high success moose hunt is going to run you a couple thousand in air charter fees and supplies.
I would strongly suggest to hook up with a group of guys that have an area they frequent, maybe they have an opening. Moose hunting alone is no fun and too expensive, not to mention it can be dangerous if you're new to the area and procedures in general. There are also some drive to areas, but you still need ATV's, boat, tent, cooking equipment, etc. While these aren't nearly as costly, your chances of getting one are a lot slimmer as well. Regardless, I would again strongly suggest to hook up with a few guys.
If you want the info on some reputable air charter companies, shoot me a PM. Maybe they can help you out.
