My sister-in-law had a scary incident with a bull moose yesterday on hwy 97N about 8 km North of Prince george. She was driving 90 kmh along a straight stretch of road with willow on both sides, and this bull just boils out of the willows on one side, through the shallow ditch and right into her SUV. Up onto the windshield, slid off the drivers side, wiped off the driver's outside mirror and bashed in the driver's side rear door, smashing that window as well. Her 5-yr old son was strapped in a carseat in the rear, and I guess it gave him a real scare. My SIL, was pretty shaken up, and this morning complained of a few sore spots. [naturally!] She was feeling particularly shakey, since she had only had her DL for a short while. Thank goodness She and the nephew are OK. Took them to emerg last night, but all checked out OK. Moose died in the incident. I'm guessing 4-5 grand in damage. Airbags didn't deploy, so that cost will not be incurred. I have been so fortunate. In all the years living in the North, I have had a couple of close shaves, but so far, no hits. Regards, Eagleye.
