Moose In New Zealand.

Read an article on that subject a few years ago. There is a remote area (south part of South Island) where this guy has been spending a fair amount of time trying to find some moose. Nothing to report at the time of the article. Newfoundland on the other hand did very well in regards to moose transplants.

Well transplanted beavers are destroying Chile's forests and have adapted to the salt water ocean.Trudeau + Pinochet thought they could establish a fur industry.

We sent them Rainbow Trout from BC back in the mid 70's.
They have done well there.
this is the first I have heard about a Moose being transplanted there.
Interesting to read the story.

Son was in Peru, Apparently we sent them some Rainbow trout as well. they are now regarded as an invasive species in Lake Titicaca. We sent beavers to the southern part of Argentina as well, they're wishing now we hadn't. :) These things seldom go as expected.
