Just putting this out there...

Anyone interested in the sport can come and try things at the Moose Jaw Skeet and Trap club on Thursdays starting at 6:30pm. (weather permitting)

I just recently joined and I'm having so much fun but unfortunately our numbers are getting pretty low. I've been asked to do a little bit of recruiting so if you're interested, send me a PM. I've been shooting since I was 11 and living in the area but didn't even know it existed until just last month. I think this is the case for most in the Moose Jaw area.

Memberships are incredibly cheap and targets are cheap as well. We just want to have fun and meet new people while shooting clays.

Hope to see you soon.

In Sask., at least my part, alot of people hunt but very few shoot, we have a wonderful facility here in P/A, but a very small # of people use it. Anyhow I hope it works out good at the Moose Jaw club!

I use it every time I'm up there. Cowboy action, pistol and the two rifle ranges. Haven't used the skeet range yet but a very nice facility.

Its behind the RV dealership on the TransCanada on the north east side of the city. Right across the highway from the Prairie Oasis Restaurant and Gas Bar. Make the turn at the corner of Highway 1 and Thatcher Driver and there's a little gravel road heading east.

Like I said 6:30 on Thursdays and its cheap like American beer. We might not shoot tonight because of the weather but it all depends on what happens. It is Saskatchewan after all.

The thing is pepole don't know how to get into the sport, they are interested but don't know were to start I bring new shooter with me to the gun club almost every week they all have fun some come back some don't but they look at shooting sports in a positive maner in the end and thats what we need.
I think the clubs are missing some self promotion , try hosting some open houses were
more experienced members stand next to them and they get try shooting a few shots at clay targets, then move them on to an all rookie squad where they shoot with all newbies
and the scores all kind of resemble each other. Take out some ads in a local news paper and promote
your open house we as clubs have to do this if we are going to sustain or grow our memberships and keep the sport alive. Also get the kids involved I have a 13 year old who loves it and we are getting his friends involved they love it this is your next generation who need to be enouraged to get their licences and support the clubs aging memberships ,let me know what you think.

Reviving an old thread here, I'm somewhat new to then Moose Jaw area and really missing trap shooting? Is your club running and up and going for the spring yet?

I will be out when you are open. Let me know the schedule!

Not up and running yet but it won't be long until it is. If you're in town they have a booth at the gun show this weekend, renewed my membership today and can't wait to get out and bust some.

I've only been a member there for a few years but I'm fairly active, if you don't end up at the gun show and need more information just send a message into my inbox. I'll be down there tomorrow so I'll be sure to grab contact info if you or anyone else needs some. Even if we just exchange emails I can let you know when it starts up as he sends out a quick email at the beginning.
