I got a bull moose draw for area 5-2. I have hunted mule deer around the knife-creek area but have never seen any bull moose in there. Can someone point me in a general direction where I can find bull moose around the knife creek area.

Thanks!

if you had never seen moose in there why would you put in for a draw there?

Who care, he got the draw and now he has a reason to go camping for a week in the bush with his buddies, sit around the campfire, have a few wobblie pops and bbq some red meat. Sounds great to me. :dancingbanana:

I got nothing and now I'm reduced to hoping one of my buddies got one so I can use that for an excuse with the missus for taking another week off.;)

Not too sure where your draw is exactly, but when I have hunted moose near Williams Lake we always got ours high up.

You got a draw in 5-2 zone C, one of the best moose zones in the interior. The problem is that while the Knife Creek has a good deer population moose are rare.

You have to hunt the North-East boundaries of the zone if you want to maximize your odds. It is mainly rough country - no where near as easy to hunt as the more open Knife Creek area - but good things don't come easy.

BTW, The timing of your draw - pre-rut, rut, or post rut also will dictate
how you should hunt.

I had heard there were lots of moose in the area. Just never seen any in there. We go up every year to hunt mule deer there and thought it would be conveniant if we could also hunt moose close by.

Thanks fo the help, Boo!

Before we were staying by the powerline (after going down knife creek rd and after passing the gas or pipe line we got to the powerline).

We will probably be going up around the 10th or so (that will give us 5 days or so of moose hunting).

Again, appreciate the help :)
