Or more to the point, what have you tried, that worked?

I am looking at bowhunting, mainly for Whitetail, but possibly for moose as well.

I have found a spot. Pretty active scrape lines, lots of beat up trees, and a fair collection of moose tracks.

Wondering what, or whether, I should spend a couple or 30 buck on that might up my odds above simply parking myself quietly along the way and waiting.

For moose, I have seen the incense sticks, used by a hunting partner, but have not seen them work, so dunno if they will or wont.

For the deer? Never used the stuff before. What works?

Willing to spend a few bucks on the chances that the stuff might up my odds,

Cheers

I have used the Deer Sense sticks. I had video of a buck come in from over 600yds and tip the pail over. I'd say they work. Either that or it was a helluva coincidence.

Never have set scent for moose. Deer Sense makes moose stix too, but I never tried them.

lure

fresh dug earth is a good cover when ground is unfrosen so is skunk when its early enough. doe urine base will get some bucks up smelling the lure & licking trees. always fun to watch. They might bring more deer past a blind. moore deer past = more fun AJ

Have had success with Tinks 69. Usually place it in a film can crosswind from my bow stand in a good place for a shot. Have had several bucks licking thier nose when they smell it and shot a couple with thier nose in the canister.

Thanks!

Was walking some cuts looking for grouse, and found a good line of scrapes. Lots of moose tracks in the area as well.

Planning on trying to whack a deer with the bow, and figure I'll grab a moose tag in the process, just becuase I'd have to kick myself all the way back to the truck if I were to be sitting there and have a moose go walking by.
Got till end Oct. to get one with the bow on a general tag, so might be able to try a little calling and see if they come towards, or run away.

Pretty sure i can grab some Tinks, locally.
