Here are some more pictures for those on the fence:)

The things I noticed so far,

-Forend tube is a little big..I had to ream the Houge foreend with the threads on the end of the forend tube.
-Barrels are simillar to the HP-9 1 I had and do not index properly on my Remington receiver.
-The Bead on mine looks like it was either hit or the hole is not perpendicular to the barrel.
-Muzzle looks pretty good with a minor nick
-Trigger feels good
-Action is pretty smooth for new
-The mag tube has a Brazed spot where it attaches to the receiver
-Brazed arms on the foreend tube
Flat head screws holding on the recoil pad

Wow. That's rough. Crooked and bent.

I'm not impressed, or surprised.

:shotgun: ... still grateful for there being more guns brought to Canada in quantity offered at a price you just can't pass on.

looks like the breach plate in cash and machined as part of the forend rail.
intresting.
same way as Fabarm do theres.
CO seems to be o nthe same par as the rem express line of guns and looks about the same as the norinco 1st grade HP9.
id liek to see a shot of the ejector spring pinning rivite

Brazing surprises me.

Really? Thats how 870s are attached. I know, I needed to modify my wingmaster to accept an 8.5" barrel, which means the mag tube needs to be shortened. After getting frustrated looking all over for a die that would cut the threads of the magazine tube, I heated up the area where the mag tube meets the receiver and voila, off it came, brazing nice and visible. So I just chopped and re-brazed. Below is a pic of the 870 mag tube as it came off:

I've seen that on new Remingtons and Mossbergs too
Cheers

I meant that I have seen some brand new Remingtons and Mossbergs with bent or crooked front beads. In fact my Mossberg lost the front bead on the very first shot it fired so it's not just limited to Chinese shotguns ;)

It all looks very similar to the Norinco - visable brazing and such.
What is the overall length with the SpecOps Folder? My 14" Norc with the same stock is about 27 1/4" overall. I would imagine the 12.5 would put the overall length just under 26"

It's about 3/8" short.
Needs a sling loop welded or epoxied to the sling stud....

are you saying the barrel isn't usable on an 870?

It's usable... but it is twisted slightly to the left on the Remington receivers I've tried it on.

Here's a 14" norinco HP9-1 barrel on a Remington....this barrel works well on the Grizzly but you can see how it's twisted on the Remington.

This pretty much tells me the Norinco ejector, or breech bolt and the ejector cut in the barrel hood and likely the way the barrel is positioned in the receiver, are slightly off compared to an actual Remington 870.

... or the barrel ring is brazed on the wrong spot. Either way, the Norc barrel sitting in the above REM receiver is clearly not right and may be stressing the receiver in some way.

HP9s are not copies of the 870. In many ways, they are different.

It's beyond me why people interchange parts so liberally.

I'm not even sure if it's safe to swap parts among different Norcs, never mind REMs. :D

I hope not, but I feel there's a good change for someone to be hurt by such practices. Don't you guys think so?

Regards.

The only way to check for certain is to strip an old 870 and the clone, grab a set of calipers and measure/compare all the parts between the two.....(guess what I will be doing when Canada Post finally decides to deliver mine).
Cheers
