Okay.... while I am nowhere near the level of master hungry in the grand scheme of things. Our west coast clinics have proven to be invaluable learning experiences for all of us coasties :D . I am thinking of doind some road trips for trout fishin and possibly gopher shooting. The areas i plan to target for these road trips....... williams lake/prince george ...... I have a location at mcleese lake with a perfect shop for the occasion and crown land abounds for a two day event ..... tuning tweaking one day...... shootin the next.
I am also going to be heading to the kamloops/100 mile area as well on a few fishin road trips.. I could also be persuaded to head east towards the kooteneys as well.
Now, you Edmonton folks got a treat with being visited by Hungry, but i will also be making it to your neck of the woods. Have family i need to visit a little more often :D , So..... i would very much like to plan a two day event with you folks as well. A day of m14 tinkering...... and a day of gopher shooting.

So.... I am prepared to travel, on my dime, you guys arrange a location for the clinic and if possible a second day of shootin somethin hehehehe and I'll start lookin at my calender for possible dates.

any takers?

whens the next vancouver date?

Fixit..... you have mail

for the lower mainland crowd, Ideally I would like to see a clinic every month up until next hunting season starts up. I'll keep you all postted through seperate threads once dates are set.

Codey, i will be discussing a possible Island clinic with Lazerus2000. However, I am an absolute fishin nutjob......... playing with firearms is my break from fishing LOL . Steelhead season is here and i may become quite scarce around here for a few days at a time :D

that said, I frequent gold river through late july and august for fishing nootka sound and I would be open to combine an island trip with a day stop over for a clinic. If it's on my route, I have no problems , if it's way outta my route..... I don't want to incurr to much expense hehehe.
I may also be making the trip to port alberni this winter to hook up with west coast river charters for a few days of jet boat steelheading......
I'll keep you all posted and maybe Laz will chime in

Thomas: Thanks so very much for spreading the love out on the West Coast. I'm so thankful that you are helping others at locations that I just cannot cover. I also gotta look out for the Quebec/ Montreal/ Eastern Ontario/ Halifax M14 lovers this coming spring. :D

Cheers,
Barney

while i will duck the title Guru as some have referred me too...... I will leave those honours for guys like hungry and a few others i've met who's experience is far beyond mine :D
But, i have dedicated a few years of my spare time tinkerin and building these rifles...... namely norinco's and usgi hybrids.
Inspired by the 2004 abby clinic DVD that i did not attend...... I began my "journey". What use are the skills and information without sharing them.... for either money or...... just plain good times. I'll take the plain good times :D
I'm looking forward to shakin yer hand one day Hungry..... thanx for the inspiration ;)

Any chance there might be another local clinic? I've ordered 6 M14s from Marstar for me and a few friends, and they are supposed to arrive any day now. I'd love to attend one of your clinics in the lower mainland. Then again, maybe a hunting trip would be good too :)

there will be lower mainland support groups on a monthly basis starting january.
I was hoping to get in touch with Katana and Davy Crocket to maybe do an outer fraser valley clinic... ie chilliwack as I will be spending a great deal of time out that way this winter on the river chasin steelhead.

I would also like to see someone with good contacts at a local range step and and get us some dedicated M14 time at a range in the L.M. or fraser valley. once a month for 2 to 3 hours??

I'll see what can be done at my range, but it will be limited to 100 yards at most and will likely be easier in the non winter months. I'll let you know.

:D If you shoot out Manitoba way we can book the Selkirk range. I'm sure we would get a few interested Gunuttz to attend. Suprathepeg was working on a Hungry Clinic but I am not sure where he is at with that.

all I can say is this..... I want to take a road trip from the fraser valley, to prince george, then on to edmonton. I would like to time my arival in edmonton with the gopher shooting season as I think a 2 day event would be great.

So.... arrange a place..... could be someone garage for all i care. Let me know once facilities are confirmed and I will sit down with my wife and figure out some dates. Best if one person from each area organizes his area and I will coordinate through that person.
I have accomodations in williams lake but no place for a clinic.
P.G. I can always hotel it or pitch the tent near a kickass trout lake ;)
Edmonton..... I believe Sosa once again is going to try and rustle somethin up but if any edmonton area gun nutz have a gopher shootin locale and a "best time" to come to coincide with decent early gopher shootin..... please contact me.

Hey 45Acpking: Kudos to Sosa for trying to make things happen out there once again. We have seen that Sosa is a 'step up' kind of guy and he is at it again. He did a phenomenal job in Edmonton on the 08 Nov 2008 clinic! :D

Hope that this road trip will work for you. I was trying to arrange something like this last August to Western Canada, but the new house has taken all my attention.

Cheers,
Barney

As your two Jan. are now full, I'll join you for your Feb one. And I may bring a friend also. (Zavgor is his log-in here)

SASKATCHEWAN gun nuts........ it's stretch, but i might consider a road trip to coincide with the 2009 gopher shoot that is in the events forum. We could always set up a clinic right on the gopher field hehehehe
i'll ponder that one but it is a stretch for me at this point.
