More Mosin Musings

Just shoot with the pad and it will go away. Also double up on the ear plugs and muffle the sound better.

The expectation of a loud noise may exacerbate flinching? That is something that I have not focused on, I use a medium quality set
of ear muffs so I could benefit from improvement there, thanks!

Both of my Russian post war TT-33's have excellent triggers. It makes them much easier to shoot them accurately although, they also have a lot of play in them and I suspect mine aren't the most accurate pistols out there. Still, I'm able to shoot them well enough to keep me coming back for more. Watch out! They're very addictive.

They certainly seem like a fun thing to shoot, I don't seem to recall a heavy recoil, but lots more than a .22 so that you know you are shooting a gun!

Dry firing at home with dummy rounds is very underestimated in terms of training if you ask me. Don't forget to take an actual sight picture during training. It is also a great way to become proficient with your reloads without spendig money on live ammo. Once you think you worked out the flinches; when at the range, have someone else load your rifle with a mix of live and dummy without you knowing the order. Fire off all the rounds. If you still are flinching when you get to the dud, it will be very obvious as there obviously be will be no recoil. If you are still flinching, then repeat the training cyle until the bad habits are gone.
