Don't mean to spam up the forum with newb stink..... but I have no idea what a 3-gun match is. Can someone tell me, or point to a website with a good overview?

Thanks

That would be a match where you'd be required to use three guns.... Usually a handgun a rifle and a shotgun....

EESA plans on a 3-gun in april... I believe it'll be run ala IPSC

There are other types of three and four gun matches out there which require you to use more than one type of gun in a single stage... I don't believe IPSC 3-gun does this....

There's another thread on a 3gun match coming up.
I believe its going to be pistol, sniper & rifle for that one. (no shotgun)

Correct...

An IPSC 3-gun is treated like 3 seperate matches, each one with a seperate winner...and an overall winner for the combined Tournament...

yes thers ipsc 3 gun
then real 3 gun aka 3 gun combat
which is normally 2 gun
ie hangun and long gun bother used in the same course of fire
Both can be alot of fun.
3 gun combat is not somthing i would try unless your used to it.
Good kit is needed and fitness is a must.

What you're refering to is usually called 'multi-gun'........

Flanker: depends on whither it is an IPSC sanction match or not. If it isn't then it will be up to the match organizer. In the US they do not do BB courses but many ranges require that you take a Familiarization course.

Uncle Wather: In IPSC there are rules for making major and minor in both handgun, rifle and shotgun. guns are not specified except for production division.

That being said, rifles and shotguns are put into 'Divisions' depending on action type and what modifications have been done; just like handguns.

In any case.... regardless of what it's being called (3-gun, multi-gun, more than one gun...) just check out the info supplied by the people putting on the event....

IPSC 3gun would be pretty much standardized no matter where you play...
Other three gun, multi-gun matches may have different rules...

www.michigan3guncombat.com runs great matches. The best I've been to anyway... It ain't IPSC. It ain't exactly IDPA, but it is fun...
