Went to the range this morning, windy but thats ok! I used 154 grain SST's out of the 7mm-08 with two different powder loads , kinda looks like she likes the IMR 4350 load better. I tried the 139gr SST's and didn"t shoot worth sh_t. What do you all think?

i found imr 4350 to work the best for me. 140 noz paertition and 48 grns imr 4350. gives me over 2800 fps. your load seems a little hot compared to my reloading manuels. would like to know what speed your getting.

Thanks Chappy! You are right! It was a mis- print:redface: should be 45gr. of IMR 4350 not 55grs. 45grns. which is max load in the sixth edition hornady manual. Picture and info has been corrected!

what kind of rifle? barrel lenth. brass. i'm using reformed hornady match 308 brass. my 140 noz par shoot under an inch with imr 4350 but i tried rel 15, varget and w760 without to much success.

sounds very nice. with the 24 inch barrel you should see some good speed. nice thing about the 708 is the recoil. very little. this will be the first year to hunt with it. i will be leaving for deer/black bear hunt in a week.i'm using a tikka t3 with a luep 6x. its quite light. usually i'm a more of a 300 mag guy but change is good.

Nice set-up you have there!, ya I just got it this year , I mainly shoot a Model 70 30-06, but this is a nice change in the recoil ! I put a Leupold VXII 3X9X40 on her and it sure feels nice.

Have you beded the rifle. By the looks of the target(varget) the shots are falling in a string. This can indicate that you may need to bed and free float the barrel. I've tried the business card shim trick and it seemed to work.

I free floated the barrel, and the action has been bedded from the prev owner! tried the card trick before and did not help??? Thanks, any other idea's Thanks Badbrass

If the rifle has been shot a bit, you can remove the bolt an inspect the locking lugs to see if they are bearing evenly. If they are not it's a common problem with a simple fix.
