Guys I did the 150gr FN unknown branding projectile in the 30-06, im loving it. but im fully loaded up and next in line is the 170gr RN models from Hornady, i know this because its a big bright red box ... i got them to try in the 303 #1 a while back- now finally have a 308 gun.
So this is another bullet made for the 30-30 winchester an its very modest velocitys- i believe factory loads would be in the 2000fps ball park once a 20 inch barrel factored in. maybe 2100 on a sunny day?
love 30-30 but havnt hunted with one enough to know much about their loads apart from the fact 150gr is he answer to everything..........
i have seen deer shot with 30-30 down here which showed major lack of expansion but the shots wer far far from on target...perhaps these were 170gr idk.
So imsearching other forums via google in regards to this 30-06 and the 170gr RN , while i do so did anyone here test or use anything similiar in terms of this 170gr bullet? how did it fair at which velocitys??
im potntially going to load at around 42gr of AR2206H /4895? from memory.
