More TacOrd goodness.

My gosh Casey @ Tac Ordance makes nice shotguns! How do you like that Mesa stock line of sight/cheek weld with the red dot? i.e. does it feel natural to shoulder with eye on the dot or do you find its more of a chin weld to the stock?

Nice. The only improvement possible to that STF would be if Surefire made a forend.

To be honest I haven't had time to get to the range with it. I hope to get their next week. The red dot will more than likely be added to another gun in the future, I would like to keep the 10" very simple as it was built to be a Bush gun.

I found the Mesa stock and a red dot to be a pretty comfortable cheek weld if you have the lop adjusted properly, if you only have a bead sight and a short barrel it is a really hard cheek weld to get your sight line down low enough. An elevated style of iron sights works better than a plain bead, not to mention the high point of impact due to the shorter barrel length. Once you get into the 14”-18” length barrels it gets better, it’s a good stock system though. I’ve had one for a couple years and it’s been rock solid, I like the ergonomics of it as well.

how's the recoil on they shorty shotguns?

A little higher than on a riot length setup, but the muzzle blast is savage.

Anyway, I'd take an STF-12 over any "tuner" 870, I just wish they offered other than ghost rings as far as iron sights go.
