This I think was made in 1946.I know cartridges 303.Is mortar ww2 and what doe,s acer on emblem mean.Thanks

ACER in latin means MAPLE

The emblem is the Canadian Infantry Corps badge. The same emblem is used nowaday as the Infantry Branch capbadge worn by untrained infantryman awaiting their infantry course. The king's crown has been replaced with the queen's crown and ACER got replaced with DUCIMUS

Not sure what it stood for back then
