Have these ever been imported into Canada in any numbers? I'm after a Mosin carbine and from everything I've read these are the most accurate + considerably lighter than the M44s.

Having less historical significance than M38s I imagine they would be cheaper than M38s; what would the going rate for one be on the ee?

The price of carbins are not going down. I took a shot out $100 91/30 and built my own ersatz 91/59. Quick and cheap.

91/59 carbines were imported into Canada in small quantities about 25 years ago and none since. They sell at a premium over M38/44 when found. Last time I saw the even rarer 91/38 for sale in Canada was at least 15 years ago.

I passed one up at a gun show last spring that was close to shot out. It was priced around $250 as I recall. I'm not sure that they knew exactly what it was, however.

Thanks guys. Two carbines sold in the ee last week for $225 a piece, not sure if they were M38s or M91-59s. Guess they were an even better deal than I thought!

edited to add; I just saw M38s on West Rifles site for $575! Budds Gun shop in the US has these for $250?! Even with import fees a private individual could beat the West Rifle price by hundreds $... crazy.

And yet Westrifle sold theirs out fast.... No mosin is worth that to me, but apparently someone isn't afraid to raise the bar.

I got a nice Russian m44 at the same sale. Unfortunately it came via the states and has the import etching.

Probably was marked pending import to the US and never made it there. I never got an email, after multiple confirmation emails sent to westrifle. Oh well.
