Wondering if anyone has experience with this ammo I picked up. I tried some of the MFS 203 grain and it was shooting about 12 inches high so I'm going to try this now and wondering if anyone has experience.

I'll be adding something to the front post to make it taller. Was just wondering about the quality and consisten of the Czech surplus

Your M91/30 or variant was meant to be shot with the bayonet attached. It should be zeroed in for appx 300m with the bayonet attached which would be about 8 inches high at 100m.

The MFS ammo you mention is doing exactly what it should be doing and you will find this 143grn lot shooting very similarly.

My mosin 91/30 loves the stuff. Around an inch to an 1.2" at 50m and 3-4 inches at 100m. Doesn't shoot high for me at all with no bayonet. Dunno if it's actually from Czech Republic though. I got a feeling it's Chinese. Have had 1 failure to fire after ~220 rounds. Definitely recommend it!

Check the headstamp. I bet it says 61/67. The 5 cases of that stuff I have are all stamped that way, and all Chinese.

I had a great chart of different 7.62x54r headstamps and the country of manufacturer for each. I'll see if I can find it for you.

it looks an awful lot like repackaged chinese, which generally shoots fine. some split necks here and there, pretty dirty ammo. goes boom every time tho.

I have the same ammo, and I agree with Stripes, its Chinese. I feed that thru my mosin and I can hit a 8" plate at 200yds, no problem, and I wear glasses.. :d. Good ammo.

Never had a Mosin shoot 8" high at 100 yards or any that wouldn't do under 2" ........many 1.25" and an ex sniper 3/4" with PRC machine gun ball ! Even the old Czarist hexes.Harold

My 1942 Dated 91/30 shoots about 8" high and 2" right at 100 meters. Trying to compensate with some Kentucky windage helps a bit
