I would love to take my mosin out this weekend to go shoot thing is it never came with a firing pin height adjustor is there another way to adjust it ? HELP PLEASE MY RIFLE NEEDS ME

Partly take apart the bolt till you see the firing pin exposed then twist the firing pin assembly. Its just threaded in like a screw. When assemblimg the bolt leave it in the fired postion.(postion the bolt would be in when the gun is loaded.) The firing pin should be protruding. I belive the measurement is 0.075 - 0.095 thousanths of an inch (check it but im pretty sure its that area.)If all is good put it in the gun and shoot some ####. Also there is a slot on the back of the bolt you can line the screw up with that but check the measurement. Forgot to mention just use a set of dial calipers to measure the firing pin pertrusion.

With the bolt assembly in the cocked and ready to put into the rifle, make sure the FP is slightly recessed. Look at the rear by the cocking knob, the slot for the FP adjustment should line up with the witness marks on the cocking piece and should be flush OR slightly raised. This would prevent FP over penetration.
IF the bolt is all original this will give you a starting point. Better to have less FP exposure to start.

I've seen Mosin cleaning kit on amazon.ca for around $20 and free shipping - it has firing pin depth gauge. But it's for the next weekend I guess : )

IIRC, the markings on the gauge are in 1/100ths of a millimeter; i.e. minimum protrusion of .75mm and maximum of .95mm, or .0295" and .0374" respectively.

Regards,
Joel
