Well its time to accurize my M38, I ran out of projects at home... lol...

I got my NOS Finnish Mosin Nagant M39 2-Stage Trigger part set in the mail today, Its seems to be period correct. ( the seller has 1 left http://www.ebay.ca/itm/121400261645?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 )

I also ordered the shim kit from Smith Sights. This way I do not Bubba anything on my Mosin. My Mosin is a 1944 in a M38 wartime stock.

The original trigger pull averages 6.14 lbs hopefully the new one will help.

Are you saying the Finnish trigger feels horrible or the original trigger? I just ordered one from him the other day.

The barrel pressure pad and shimming should help a great deal.

Well my trigger job is done. The factory Finn sear isn't drop in. Actually the Finn sear / Trigger combo gave me a 9 Lbs trigger pull. So I didn't use the Finn sear, there was too much to take off.

Im down to a 2lbs trigger, I did the drop test and its passes.

The break is nice and crisp now. making sure the cocking piece is at 90 degs makes a world of difference. Mine was way off. now it doesnt pull down anymore.

I used this trigger job video

The trigger job is about the one thing that will improve accuracy on m38. The band between handguard and stock will not do anything except preventing the handguard from sliding forward after each shot. Barrel band is more effective on 91/30 which has longer and thiner barrels. Carbines have thicker barrels and do not flex as much.

I free floated mine, put a cork piece on the front of stock. Polished up the trigger. Mines a 91/59. Cut to 19", re crowned. Trying to work out a new front sight and a full adjustable rear.

He had a free shipping offer for November :) so I dunno what he will charge....

Mine was sent USPS lettermail.... I cant see that costing to much.....
