I have a friend who is a professional machinist.
Let me see if I understand the process:
-Buy barrel blank of length desired short chambered
Plus reamer and headspace gauge
-thread barrel to match receiver thread and crown muzzle
-screw barrel into receiver and check headspace, reaming
and checking until bolt closes on gauge
Mill reciever opening on the bottom long enough for loaded
round to move up to chamber and slope/bevel/polish feed ramp
until it works.
Then mag well cut outs at front of magwell sides and probably a
spacer on the front wall to ensure rounds don't migrate
forward under recoil.
Please point out steps and nomenclature that I have missed
or messed up. Thanks. I know there are other forums that
cover this stuff too, but I can't always access them from
where I am at the moment.
