I am/will be the new owner of a great condition 91/30 Mosin (in the mail currently
)
I have a Russian M44 and I have fired many types of ammo with it at different distances, so am familiar with the Mosin Nagant platform.
I have been researching the Mosin and it's role in WW2 as a sniper rifle.
I can find no clear distinction (other than an optical scope being issued and affixed to the 91/30) between a Mosin 91/30 and a Mosin 91/30 Sniper Rifle.
Were there any inherent attributes that distinguished a regular Mosin to be issued for use as a Snipers rifle?
Any attributes machined into them that made them more accurate than your standard issue Mosin 91/30?
As far as I can tell any and all 91/30's are regarded as very accurate as far as military surplus rifles go in general.
I was surprised at the lack of info differentiating the two. Even on mosinnagant.net
Any help, guidance or education will be appreciated
