I know it technically isn't a milsurp per say but I thought I would share it anyway. So I got a 3d printer a while back and to get the creative juices flowing I decided to design and print a handle for the mosin bayonet. For the design of the actual grip I took inspiration from a Swedish Mora hunting knife which has this sort of elongated oval egg shape which is surprisingly comfortable in the hand. Then I made it so that it would lock into the handle like it would on the muzzle of the rifle. In the end I'm quite pleased with the results even being printed in plastic it feels very sturdy, and it's a snug fit. The only real down side is of course being made from plastic and the fact that there is no real balance to the "blade".

Slick...

I keep meaning to get around to carving something out of a whatever scrap piece of ash or oak I have lying around. Getting the mounting part right will be the hardest part. Shaping a handle is more art than science, lots of room to manoeuvre there, shaping it until it feels comfortable in the hand.

You should upload your model to DefCad and share it with the wider firearms community. Fun to send stuff out into the wider maker universe and watch it get used and evolve.

Rifle is the best handle for it. No sense getting closer than you have to and you can outreach the other guy 9 times out of 10. :)

Grizz

For the record, I like this idea.
A wood/metal version would look better, but I could imagine some kind of practical use for a bayonet handle.

Well done.
