Mosin-Nagant cleaning kit...

Still relatively new to firearm cleaning, so sorry if this sounds rather dumb.

If I have the Soviet MN cleaning kit tools, would those work on other firearms of similar calibre (Lee-Enfield, e.g.) when cleaning?
Can those tools fit on any modern commercial bore snake or cleaning rod?

Mosin tools are metric, the local stuff is made for the US market and imperial.

You can use your mosin tools on any .30 cal, no sweat.

when you buy a bore snake, it's for a specific caliber

No they don't. Commercial rods have a female end and commercial jags, brushes are male. The mosin tools are the exact opposite to that.

Ditch the MN cleaning kit and buy a real cleaning rod. Get a coated, ONE PIECE rod. Steel, sectionalized and uncoated rods are hard on a bore. And always clean from the breech end when possible. Bore snakes in my opinion have no place in any one's cleaning kit. As previously stated, the jags from the MN kit will not fit commercial cleaning rods.
