Spanish civil war veteran perhaps ? The stock looks sanded, are there any cartouche markings on the right side of the butt stock ?

lake ladoga? may i ask what happend there to save it from refurb?

Just a little old Russian-Finnish War where the Russians did rather poorly and the Finns took their rifles away from them.

The crossed out markings on the sight base are a clue. Also, check for a "SA" in a box stamped usually on the left side of the receiver or barrel next to the receiver.
.

On an original Dragoon stock the handguard, barrel band fitting are different than the standard later 91/30 stock.

I know the handguard is obviously 91/30, the bands are solid and therefore dragoon but it impossible to tell if the stock is original dragoon or earlier 91/30. If the 41 stamp on the barrel means what everybody says it means, the soviet fielded quite a variety equipment against the Finns. I will post some pics with some of its cousins soon.
