Hello all,
Is the solid wood stock on the above noted rifles the "original" WWII model or were the laminated stocks just as original?

All M91/30 laminated stocks are post-war replacement stocks, while SOME M38 laminate stocks are wartime, but they are made of beech laminate, not birch. Also, some of the beech stocks were converted to M44 stocks post-war and put on M44's during the refurb process.

From more than a foot away the wartime beech laminate stocks don;t even look like laminate stocks and the layers do not color contrast like on the birch stocks.

Solid ones are a bit cheaper anyhow. More ammo money!
