Mosin Nagant M1891 experts. What is it, was it, or wants to be?

P26,as those are the only scrubbed receivers that im aware of... u can see faint Izhevsk mark on the bottom... whats odd here is that the actual "P" mark is missing

Everything is missing. I have heard of sanitized P Series but not yet convinced. Does the barrel look relined to you?

Hmmmm, sanitized M91 of some sort,..P/26 not sure...could be part of the refurb process when she was recycled by the Finns,...interesting rifle..
Looked at the pics,Tula parts,Chatterault trigger guard,Izhevsk barrel...typical Finn M1891,possibly a P series...

No P series is rare, exactly. More like uncommon for a Finn, but not rare, and not hard to find if you are looking for one - they come up on the EE pretty regularly.

I would say a Sestroryetsk is rarer in canada.

It's definitely a sanitized Izhevsk barrel that the Finns re-worked in the 1920's, that for some reason didn't get the P stamp. I've seen these before, it happened.
