Mosin Nagant M44 1953 UNFIRED!!!

Hey guys i got a M44 from 1953 unfired and was just wondering if anyone knew how much it would be worth thanks.
You may have a polish M44, unissued maybe but unfired i dont think so, they were test fired at the factory before being put in storage. Pics would be great. if its a unissued polish, worth $300-$350 but depend also how bad a buyer want it. I have 2 unissued polish M44 1954 and 1955. Thoses are the nicest Mosin in my opinion.

SVT nailed the price dead on if it's a Polish M44. The factory#11 produced rifles were the finest specimens. I have owned 5 of them and still have 2 in my collection. The 3 that I sold brought $300 each and sold reasonably quickly.

The quality of manufacture of the Polish carbines is outstanding. Better quality fit and finish, inside and out, than most current sporting rifles.

I bought two last year for 300 bucks a piece. I'd consider keeping it if you don't need the money. They are the best of the M44's in terms of build quality. I don't think they are more accurate - if only because in such an unissued stated. And yeah, what the other guys are saying: it's likely been fired, just not issued :)

Great find. I wouldn't take less then 300 for it.

I saw one at a gun show on Saturday going for $345. The guy wouldn't come down so I left it. Maybe a bad idea.

I thought his price was fair on that rifle. It was still in it's original wrap.

He only peeled it back enough so that people could see what he had to offer.

The thing about that rifle, is that it's like the wrapped No4 MkII rifles. It loses a lot of value when the wrapping is removed. That fellow supposedly was only displaying one of several that he had. The rest still had the wrap completely intact.

If you were looking for a M44/38 shooter, there were several at the show for lower prices.

Yeah but in the wrap polish M44 for 345 is a steal. If you unwrap it, you can still sell it on here easy for 300. $45 isn't a big loss for a brand new milsurp rifle.

The OP never got back to say if it is Polish or otherwise. I don't want to burst anyones bubble, but without more info or pictures, everything has been over-speculated thus far.

Where did u see wrapped M44's?
I'm on my phone and can't see locations.

I keep one of my unissued rifles in the safe and the other comes to range with me. Shoots awesome. I sighted the M44 with the bayonet folded in too. Don't really like shooting with it out.

I picked up a very nice Polish M44 used for $175, with a nice bore, and in very good condition. By the looks of it I have to guess it is unissued, but had definitely been shot. Bore was full of crap when I first looked at it, but cleaned up after some hard work.

By far one of the nicest Mosin's available, and I would love one still wrapped just to keep in the safe.

It was at the Mar 10/11/12 Chilliwack gun show, row B table #5-6.

He had one that was partially opened to show what was inside the wrappers and a couple of more under the table, for anyone that showed some real interest. This fellow had a lot of nice stuff. Most of it was 90%+ to new in wrap.

Pictures please. I remember recommending the M-44 to you when you were inquiring about a bear defense firearm choice. It looks like you caught the bug. Here's mine.

Wow i so need to find one that nice

WOW! Is right!

That thing is mint.

Mine is not that nice, and I refinished the stock as it had some dings. I have been packing it around with me as well, and strapping it on the quad as well. LOL

I paid only $175 for it though so I am happy.

I actually just gave it a little attention and oiled it up today. ;)
