Mosin Nagant M91/30

I have a 1938 that looks a heckuva lot like Satain's in the non-Sniper version.

It has killed a deer and several bears. Good enough out to 100 yards.

I haunted the gun shows until I got about 80 rounds of older Norma 180 gr. hunting ammo.

I tried one box of Russian soft point ammo and after firing a few rounds and forgetting to clean it, my bore looked like a sewer pipe the next day. Never used that stuff again.

When a buddy gave me a Husquvarna 270 I retired the Russian.

Nice rifle. It looks like a real rifle to me. Whatever he paid he loves it. It may not be historically accurate but I am sure it has a great story behind it and undoubtedly has been held by someone at some point that was *#@*ing their pants, or worse.

Skirson's point is (I think) that Zefarm may have sold a $800 rifle at a price of $1,000 or more; he's known for overpricing what he sells.

Actually no. I paid $675 then with taxes and shipping it came out to $749.70. Furthermore there is no refurb marking's I can find any were on the rifle or the stock and all the number's match every were. I was looking at getting a refurb from Trade Ex and building it up to look like this but when I priced it out I would have only saved a couple of hundread dollar's but it would have taken months to complete and to find an un-refurb in mint condition like this...
Well lets just say I am more than pleased with this purchase. Now if we could just get some more 54R crates for cheap.

That's actually not a bad price at all. It is a fake though.

I used to own a M91/30. I found it overly long for my frame, however, shooting it, I found that, though the barrel was packed in cosmoline and nearly mint, I could not hit decent groups. That's just me though. They are good rifles. As for ammunition, PRVI PARTISAN is decent hunting ammo so I've heard, for 25.00 a box usually. I personally by 1980's Czech corrosive ammo for my SVT 40, as it will not run with the soft pointed bullets. Those go for 7.50 a box of 20 at my local gunsmithy.

Ive got a mosin 91/30.. havent shot it yet :'(

because I can't find any damn AMMO!!!!!!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

anyone know where the secret stash of 7.62x54r is located????

Go on EE and put up a WTB ad, worked for me although most of the good deals were in your "Bantario".

Great Buy

That is a great price for a very good looking unit!
But be warned - Mosins are "social" rifles, i.e. they love the company of their own kind. I started of with one lone 91/30, and as of now, have five more of the various configurations.

I would consider reloading for that little girl. You can either round up some Priv ammo and keep the cases, or order some new Privi brass from TradeEx.
I just use the cheap Lee "pound with a hammer" set up - works absolutely fine and cuts the price of ammo to less than half; and cuts your group size by the same amount.

Have fun - you will never regret that purchase!
