I was in a shop today and they had from what I could tell by looking was a 1927 hex mosin dragoon that was never refurbished bore and metal wasnt great and the upper handgaurd looked warped I figured it was left in a barn, it didnt have much for markings on the receiver. Anyone have any experience with these the asking price was 475 on consignment

Been looking more I think it was actually a m91 infantry rifle barrell bands were screw ons the upper hand gaurd seemed much thicker then my 91/30 and it had a heavyer barrell untill about the last 4 inches then my rifle also had under hung metal peaces for your sling .
Looking on line it looked just like the m24 kind of wish I bought that inplace of my 91/30 sniper. Im not really sure if it would be safe to shoot or straight shooting(even as hard to kill mosins are) someone really neglected it, the bore was full of obstructions, sight was half rusted in place and the front blade was covered in rust even the bolt was slighty rusted. 475 seemed like way too much
I found two refurbished dragoons the other day. They were in good shape, with excellent metal and bores. they were going for $250.00. It made me sick because i was broke. All matching and everything was time appropriate except the rear site. One was a 1909 the other a 1912. They were thrown in with all the other Nagants and priced the same as the other hex recievers. I am going to see if they still have them tomorrow.
Updated dragoon are fairly common but I have never seen a pre ww1 date one.
