After Englishman.ca helped me with my Pakistani SMLE markings I have been snooping around my old Milsurps trying to "read" their various stamps and markings. Anyways, I have a 1915 Westinghouse (small arc) M91 that I have always been curious about so I thought I would see what this rifle is about. Anyways I stumbled upon a site showing the umpteen stamps and marks to be found on old Nagants. They even show Import marks in the US market and explain those. Check this out http://62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinMarks.htm I had no idea there was so many variations

Absolutely in-valuable site, for sure. The address really should be the calibre of the cartridge:

7.62x54R.net

But because of the different way computers see the use of the period, and the architecture of web addresses, it works without the ‘7.’ as you put it.

A question: where in the Canadian market can one find even 10% of the Mosin variations listed there? I've managed to collect quite a few, but like I said not enough to make a dent in the potential total, and it's fairly impossible right now to even find any pre- 1930 up-dated models.

That website definitely taught me a lot about Mosins in general and especially my 1911 Izhevsk. The knowledge has helped me identify and value Mosins of all types found at local gun shows which can come in handy when bargaining.
