apparently these 2 verisons (1948 and m/52) of the Mosin Nagant rifles were made in Hungary. Has anybody seen one, are they comparable to to a regular Mosin in quality, accuracy? I can't find info on that or barrel length, I would like to get the longest barrel possible. I feel wierd mounting a 900 dollar scope to a 130 dollar gun but I heard a Nagant is good for 600-1000 yards if done right. Also if anybody has any lines on the Hungarian version I'd be interested in acquiring if pointed in the right direction

i SAW A M52 MODEL AT A GUN SHOW 2 YEARS AGO, QUALITY AND LOOK IS FAR MORE BETTER THEN THE 91/30. QUALITY WAS ALSO BETTER, HAD BETTER FINNISH to the metal. I WAS VERY INTERESTED BUT THE PRICE WAS 2000$!!

The carbine and the Sniper come up for sale on a regular basis. The rare one is the standard "plain jane" Infantry rifle, only handled two of those myself over the years.

No Hungarian Mosin is a $130 gun. Those would strictly be your run of the mill Russian refurbs. You might be able to find a Hungarian M44 for $250 $300, though I havent actually seen one since SIR was selling them 10 years ago, but any of the full length rifles are going to be $1000 and up.

Any particular reason you wanted Hungarian? They're certainly a little better made than Russian but the characteristics are all the same, maybe a Russian one would work for you.

That said a Mosin at 600-1000 yards seems doubtful, frankly. They're not inaccurate rifles, but that's a little more than I'd except from a mass-produced Communist infantry weapon.

I used to have one,all matching, like new.Accuracy- with surplus couldn't do better than 2in (scope and open sight the same)I think with better ammo results will be better))The pics you can see here- http://talks.guns.ru/forum/164/780491.html
