Price check for a Mosin Nagant 7.62 x 54 Model 91 made in Russia in 1891. All matching numbers, stock, bore and all the rest look in very good shape. The guy is asking $250. Is it a good rifle and is the price reasonable ?

If it really is an M91 MADE in 1891, with matching numbers, excellent bore, it's a $600+ gun. I doubt, however, that it's really made in 1891 and I doubt it's not a Finn capture. $250 is not out of line if it's nice.

If you get in no-go state for your deal, I'd like to look at it. As well as others pre-1917 Mosins (non-Rem, Westie, etc, e.g. Russian made only) the close to original the better , should anyone see them around.
I hear that if they were imported by certain companies(century?) they got a big import stamp on them. This devalues them, not that it matters cause I doubt that the stamp will reduce your accuracy.
