Mosin Nagant question.

don't forget to buy a good butt pad for the stock. The kick like a mule

Only if your prone.. I got a 19" Mosin with a M38 stock. I found Standing, It wasn't as bad as shooting bench. Im a wopping 156lbs. Only hurts when ya catch it in the collar bone lol... I fired 59rds yesterday.

You can see pictures of each rifle on our web store at westrifle.com also you can ask me questions at master@westrifle.com I usually answer those within 24 hours or less. Send me all the questions and I will answer. I will answer a few questions here.
1. We fly for every shipment of container overseas and check it ( like right now when I type it I am overseas right now)
2. I am checking for the bore condition so I classify all of the bores "very good"
3. Hex receiver are more rare then round one, this is why they cost more. Because I have to find them for you in a pile of rifles.
4. Early years Mosin in good condition of the barrel are rare as well

5'1, 104 pounds. With a Westrifle Mosin.

back from shooting my m44 , i think i got a nice shooter when i do my parts , had to stop shooting after Ă  100-150 round in 2 hour my shoulder was beginning to be painfull because i was'nt able to hit my target anymore !

the first 5 shoot with the bulgarian silver tip were probably 4 inch grouping down and left of the target , put the bayo on it and that was right in the middle
bought it a canadian tire at Leduc in Alberta

Did they have many to choose from? I'm just south of there but don't make it there very often. I need one to compliment my other Mosin! :D

Nice looking M44.

The bonus about shooting 7.62x54r is that it your crate of ammunition works in all Mosin, M44, M38, and svt40 rifles. I target shoot and hunt with all of the said rifles. Canada has nothing that this caliber can't knock over.

Are they acceaptable to use for deer hunting than?

Its a 30.06 class bullet. 150gr works great for deer, and a 203gr soft point will drop the biggest moose we have. I've taken countless deer with 7.62x54r, and I target shoot with the exact same rifles. Surplus ammo is the second best going deal next to rimfire.

Indeed they are !!

The 203gr soft point will drop a deer like a sack of wet cement.

I'm a member on another Mosin Nagant forum (www.russian-mosin-nagant-forum.com) and there are countless posts about deer harvested with the Mosin Nagant (aka MN).

In fact, I'm doing just that this autumn and it is the primary reason I purchased an MN.

Here is a thread I started on scoping an MN for hunting ungulates !!

Can someone post a pic of their 91/30 beside their svt40, I need to see overall length between the two. I googled the measurements but would love to see a side by side pic.
