Hi all,

I've been experiencing rim lock on a few mosins from friends. I know what the problem is and dont need a definition...the interupter won't lock the second round down properly. Is there a permanent fix for this? That'd be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I never use stripper clips for that reason. I simply put a round forward in the breech, push it down, THEN slide it back as far as it will go. That way I know for sure the rounds aren't arranged in the magazine in a way where Ill get the problem. But, You can also "prep" a clip to run without problem: Hold clip vertically, push rounds up with finger until top one almost pops out, wiggle clip until all rounds are tilted down, push rounds down to secure, flip clip around and load in magazine pinching top round between fingers to push the other 4 down. Can still be a pain in the ass but it works. Good luck.

Scroll down 1/3 of the way on the front page and you'll see:

Finnish Mosin No-Jam Magazine, Stripped

$ 45.00 USD

This will fit all Mosin types. It is the Finns' solution to rimlock. The dimpled magazine works alongside the interrupter by automatically stacking the rimmed 7.62x54r so that the shell on top has its rim in front of the one on the bottom. Combined with a properly-functioning interrupter, this magazine eliminates all possibility of rimlock. I've used mine for over a year with no problems at all. Made in Finland.

I had this problem on my M38. I tried a few non-invasive fixes but they didn't work. This works for me but getting stuffs from Josh can take some time.
The side benefit is that the mag. that came with the rifle is still in unaltered, original condition if I ever need to sell it.

Never had the problem but from what I've read above there is only one real true fix and that was the first responce.
Increase the spring pressure on the interupter. If you are into swaping out your original parts with random sporterized ones than the above part MAY work for you. MAY....but does it work any better than the original

The fix depends upon the source of the problem. And it might not be a spring tension issue. If the magwell bows out slightly, so that the rounds can move toward the side away from the interrupter, it might well be that the round being held down by the interrupter will not be held down enough, and the rims will catch. It is an easy thing to check for, and easy to fix. It would definitely be the first thing I looked at before I started buying parts or messing with springs.
