I bought mine @ Tradeex IIRC. Uses the original screws and goes right over the butt plate. Think P&S used to sell them too. As always, call & ask if you don't see pics.

I'll tell Matty's wife it's for LOP as well. :p
 
a rubber pad is a good idea when shooting in the summer.

I took my 91/30 to the range and left with one sore a$$ shoulder. A thin layer of cotten from wearing a t-shirt and no sweater isn't much of a recoil pad. I'm now in the market also haha

Same here. Took mine to the range first time, 40 rounds later, my shoulder is hurting. The GF shot one round and now won't go near the thing :p

I wondered how those soviet conscripts dealt with it. Then I figured they probably didn't survive long enough to complain about it :/
 
After a range trip where I fired 5 magnum 3" slugs followed by 5 3" 00 buck, and a rather nasty, long lasting bruise that came up the next day, I wear one of these under my shirt when taking out the big guns for fun at the range:

They make them even thicker (1/2 inch vs. 1/4 inch), but this one is so thin that you can't tell I'm wearing it, and in fact I forget its even there. It works.

I have the same one in your picture and it makes a big difference in felt recoil. The pad is actually pretty stiff and I didn't think it would make much difference. I can fire 40 to 50 rounds with the pad versus 10 to 15 without. I could shoot more than 10 to 15 without it but I find myself flinching and not enjoying myself.
The look on Mattys wife's face at the end of his clip speaks volumes.
 
Well I had the new M44 out today, and in the end I am going to forget about the recoil pad.

40 rounds taking my time with only a t-shirt was not too bad at all.

Like I said I am used to shooting alot of slugs with the deer gun so compared to that this thing is a pussy cat.
