Im looking to attach a scope and or rail to my surplus mosin, i have a new stock on it and have watched some youtube videos on this but most are out of the states and the mounts they use usually aren't available anymore, if someone could point me in the right direction of a good product and maybe some installation tips would be great thanks

There are a few forward mounting mounts which fit right where the rear sight is so no drilling or altering the rifle so it can’t return to its original state.
Check amazon for badace scope mounts. They have one model which does extend back a fair ways, but does still require a long eye relief scope.
If you are looking to put a mount directly over the receiver one thing to take into consideration is that you will need a bent bolt...a straight bolt will not work.
You can purchase pu sniper style mounts on eBay and Amazon, but someone else will have to chime in on that.

If I was going to scope a Mosin and not use a PU mount, I would use a Rock Solid mount and drill and tap the receiver.
