Hello, hoping this thread is in the right place. So I came across a pile of milsurp today and picked up a new mosin nagant m91/30 from the pile. Marks are as follows:

Cn
tula star with arrow
1937/57
No
Mo
u (but sideways)

From what i found online the cn marking above the tula mark indicates this was a "sniper capable rifle". There are three holes on each side which were spot welded shut which confirms this suspicion (I think). Weird thing is the gun appears like new, doesn't appear to have any wear and there is not a scratch on it (nicest mosin I've seen so i grabbed it). All serial numbers match. Any experts able to comment on whether or not I'm interpreting the marks correctly? Bolt numbers match but its a straight bolt, which doesn't seem to make sense. I'm thinking the rifle should be capable of some pretty good shooting, bore looks great and it's a nice long barrel. I'm new to these rifles (have 2 now, other was a real rough one) so would appreciate comments/ any details on history/ how it should shoot. Looks so good I'm thinking of grabbing another tomorrow ha ha but maybe there's something here which will indicate it may not be a great shooter. Also, what kind of prices are guys seeing for these across Canada right now? Thanks.

Ok, that's cool. Really looking forward to seeing how it shoots. My other mosin groups around 3'' at 100 yards which i thought was just fine but it's a short rifle with heavy wear so i'd been watching for a nice one for a while. I've been enjoying reading up on these rifles/ the variants and see how getting a few more may be a possibility.
