This post now edited to include a picture.
The process is this:
- trigger is jigged in a milling machine
- secondary bolt stop is milled flat for drilling prep
- hole is drilled through top of trigger down into crest area for seer release cam
- hole is tapped for a stainless steel set screw
- pink loctite is applied and screw inserted.
- ball bearing is held in place with a dab of grease.
- trigger is reinstalled (push pin) and spring/seer reinstalled. Ensure ball bearing rides in hole of setscrew
- assemble rifle and test. To adjust remove bolt to rear and adjust with an allen key (not included)
- bump test rifle on butt stock. I use a 3lb rubber mallet. Ensure that rifle does NOT release firing pin due to shocks
- safety margin, back screw out 1/6 turn (one hex face of Allen key) for additional safety margin
- test in an approved manner
It is recommended that a gun smith install this trigger and set it up for you, or other qualified individual. Be aware that improper set-up will result in a hair trigger or trigger that could release the firing pin without warning. It is imperative that the trigger pull be set properly. I recommend the use of a trigger pull gauge and setting the trigger to 4 pounds but as always YMMV.
(ok, photo did not insert. I will edit this post later with a link to a photobucket page once I create an account there)
