Mosin PU scope on a Marlin 336W??

I picked up a Marlin 336w recently. It shoots good and is very accurate. I am thinking about scoping it with a 4X scope and I really like the PU scopes on the mosin and svt's. I don't need anything beyond 4X where I hunt.. Does any one know if a PU scope will fit regular 1" rings? I have not decided on a scope base yet. But I want to be able to still use the original iron sights as well. Thoughts/ideas?
 
there is significant poi impact change depending on how your cheek weld is on those PU scopes. Fine for close in work. they use a 1-inch ring. works great on my sks. turrets are not easy to adjust, but once you set it for desired distance i leave mine there.
 
Thanks for the input. If it works well on your sks it should be fine on a 30-30. I had one on an svt40 a few years ago and I was pretty happy with it. Had I known about the cheek weld thing it probably would have been better. I am a little surprised no one else has tried this, I have googled it and cant find anything. The idea of a light,compact, 4x scope made to withstand 7.62x54R on a lever gun just makes sense to me... unless there's something I am missing.
