So, I watched a video where they showed that the rear sight rail is a 3/8 dovetail for the most part, saw my kwik sight 3/8 dovetail to weaver adapters sitting on a shelf and thought, "why not?" They don't offer enough grip to hold a scope, but might hold a red dot. To go along with the test, I've ordered 2 different kinds of the cheapest red dots eBay had to offer, neither over $32 with shipping.

You think they'll keep zero?

That would make my day if it works. I have a M91/30 and M38 that I want to put scopes on at a reasonable price.
Can't wait to read your review or watch it on YouTube.

Interesting, but I'd think the scout type rail that replaces the rear sight might be a slightly more solid option. I don't have much faith in really cheap optics either. Let us know how it works out though.
