Moss 590 replacement sights - UPDATED

Your going to put a Red Dot on a Shotgun?????????? Blasphemous I say!!!!!!!!

But it's a really small dot ;)

I was just razzing him!!!!! LOL

That looks pretty good, I just don't think for me it would be fast enough in the action sports, YMMV obviously.

For the record, I have a Bushnell RedDot on my Turkey shotgun, so I am not without the belief that they have merit!:D

Is it that beige epoxy looking stuff on it? If so, likely heat will melt it off! Make sure you video that process, LOL!

well, the front site is dovetailed into the mount which has the beige epoxy type material securing that to the barrel.

It doesn't look like any glue/loctite is holding the actual post in place....but it sure doesn't pop out that easily (probabl a good thing)

LOL, you can run your shotgun a lot faster than me, so probably a non-issue for me. :p

Oh, you just want to take the actual sight off.....not the whole post/base.

I had mine out a couple of weeks ago, it taps out from left to right, looking at it from the receiver end.

well, if I change my rear sight to some type of iron sight, I'll probably want to change the front to the tritium or similar post.

Other than putting you in Open class, do you really find irons faster to run than a dot ? Maybe not for breaking clay targets up close, but I find a dot much faster and more accurate for slugs, especially as distances increase past 30yds.

Well, I did use a Bushnell RedDot for some Sporting clays shooting, and a little bit of fooling around with, with some stationary clays.....I did not like it. I felt like it was difficult to keep the dot centred in the scope, I realize they are parallax free, but my mind/eyes kept trying to centre the dot. And the Bushnell was hard to look over, it is quite a bit bigger unit than what you have there.

Maybe I wouldn't have that problem with the Burris, who knows. I had thought about one of the Fastfires for a Deer Rifle in the fall, so maybe I could try it out on the shotgun as well......I am all for trying/learning new things, who knows, I might change my mind!

I had actually been thinking of cutting off the top portion of my ghost ring on the shotgun......I actually liked the blade sights that my 870 had better.

It is actually TSE that has the LPA sights, not Wolverine.

Forget TSE.they guys never reply regarding LPA sights queries.

Well, the wife and I went to Epps today (which is usually a bad thing for my bank account).

Anyways, came back with a couple things and ended up with this for my 590. I was swinging it around in my basement and it seems pretty decent. Going to run it at the 3 gun match next weekend. Hopefully, the bitter taste from the last tasco optic I bought isn't renewed.
