When I asked about this gun vs 10/22 vs 795, there was love for 10/22, lots of love for 795, but literally nobody saying to go for 702.

Why is that?

I see a used one locally and am considering it, but concerned that it gets no love her for some reason.

Well I love mine - eats any kind of ammo, never had any jamming problems or anything like that. I'm not generally a fan of semis (actually this is the only one I own...), but I really enjoy this little gun. :)

The only issue is finding extra 10-rd mags for it. I had a couple on backorder from Cabelas for months & eventually cancelled it. I did find a 25-rd version made for the 'tactical' version of it & took it apart to make an extra 10-rd from it - works great....;)

I have one and it runs great. You can also now buy 25 round mags made specifically for the 702. Don't over pay for a used one. They only run about $150 new online.

Terrible Aftermarket for it, impossible to find mags...
If you are ok with bone stock and 1 mag they are ok, good gun to let first timers to use, only reason I kept mine. They shoot almost all the time with the odd jam, once they break in they are not too bad just hard to find parts and mags

I have one with a plastic stock that I carry in the combine. I managed to break the front sight, but I have an unfired one with a wood stock that I will rob the sight from. I'll put a cheap scope on the wood stock one.

I bought the plastic one so I could beat it up with no worries. I saw a 10 round mag, new, at the Churchbridge gun show. Like a dumba$$, I didn't scoop it.

The plastic one hasn't actually fired many rounds, but it works every time.

This thread made me think of checking Cabelas one more time, and surprise...they have 10 rd mags in stock. I ordered a couple this morning.
