Mossberg 100 ATR

Has anyone seen this new rifle from Mossberg, I was on the Mossberg website looking for shotguns when I found this, and when I went to P and D to buy an 835 they had this in with the rifles. I have a buddy looking for something like this and I was thinking Stevens but he hates that stock and would prefer wood. For $300 new can he go wrong? If anyone has shot this one or knows any thing about them all help is appreciated. Thanks

As troutseeker posted - check out my review on the 100ATR. One of the things that I realized after posting the review was that I didn't clean the chamber and barrel at all in between any of the shots (35 total) at the range. I wonder if this would have made any difference/improvement in accuracy? Any comments on this?

When I cleaned it afterwards I noticed that the bore looked better than after my initial cleaning prior to shooting. I'm hoping that another practice session soon will result in tighter groups.

Again, I say the Mossberg 100ATR is a great gun for the price. Note, however, that the "Durawood" stock is actually synthetic with a coating to make it look like wood. I would only choose the black.
