Mossberg 14" 590A1 Flashlights

So I plan to put a forend flashlight on my new 14" Mossy. I previously had an Insight L3 on my 18.5" Mossy.
I have seen pics of the Eotech DSF and 621 fitting on. My question is will the Insight L3 fit on the 14" and are the models of flashlight forends different for the compact models?

Yes they are different, unlike the Remington 870. You have to make sure they are made to fit shorter magazine tubes; of 6 3/4"

Yes, very little choice for any forend that fits the short action tube of the 14" model. Most are made for the longer one.

As per SF's 'site it will fit. I was going to buy that one but found a great deal on the last 'gen (still 200 lumens so plenty of power). Here's the proof it'll fit, with pics on page 2;

Believe both the 621 (2 cell) and 321 (1cell) will work, as well as the recent dsf

Have this light sitting on my 14" with ghost rings. no modification required picked it up from ds tactical. great light.

SureFire dedicated forend MUST specify 14" bbl model....cause they're is a full-size 590 model ...the pump on a compact 14" 590 is slightly shorter.

Damn that's a weird shaped forend... I wouldn't shell out $375 US until I tried one first to see if I liked the ergonomics of it.

The ergos are terrible on the new DSF. Button placement is fine.
While the textured area looks like a great thumb rest, It isnt.
You basically have to crank your wrist to hold it that low.

Anyone know where one could pick up a drop-in Surefire replacement that wouldn't stick out past the 14" barrel? Looks like the Surefire LM1 or Malkoff MDSFFE-1 would work but don't know who carries these.

That's what I figured by just the look of it. Don't need a flashlight that bad if it throws off the ergonomics of shooting the shotgun.
