Picked up a nice bolt action 410 at yesterday's HAC. Anyone have any comments on these? Anyone have a copy of the General Instructions sheet they could email? Came with one interchangeable choke, are others available?
Thanks.

Brilliant! A good find, and a sweet Grouse gun!
A very collectable .410.

Here is what I found...

A replica info sheet:

Your Shotgun seems to be listed on Mossbergs price list for 1946 and the following years:http://www.box54.com/46-pricelist-1.jpg

Found on this site with mostly .22 mossy stuff:

If you ask the the who runs this site he might be able to send you the .410 pages he might still have.

Also these great people have parts and TONS of Mossberg info, and they can tell yah about the Chokes: http://havlinsales.com/

If you ever get tired of your .410 let me know. :D

I have a 185-D (20ga with Detachable choke, which is what the "d" stands for). I second Calums recommendation of Havlin Sales. I e-mailed them a couple of times for info regarding my 185 before I actually bought it, and bought a mag from them once I had bought the gun. Great, friendly people to deal with. There are 3 different chokes available for these guns, IC, Mod and Full. Mine also came with only one, (IC) CGN user KenW was able to find the full and mod tubes for me for a good price. If you ever do get tired of the gun, sell it to me not Calum, he really doesn't need any more Mossy's.

Point taken.
Besides I'm thinking my next Mossy is going to be a 800 series Bolt Rifle. in .308.

I Just got to find one here in Canada. 8)

Hey I found some Mags' (2 of them) for what looks like some sort of Mossy Bolt action Shotgun at our local outdoor supply store, here in Vancouver Island. I'm not sure for what gauge. Anyone interested let me know.

I own the same gun, I love it so light and very smooth for something very inexpensive, not cheap at all in my opinion. I looked into Havlin sales as I would like to get a full and modified choke, I have full right now only but it is a little banged up. I had a local gunsmith put rifle sights on it for me to center the pattern but that is it. Very nice guns have not shot a lot of grouse mainly because there are not a lot in the Waterloo area but cottontails go down easy when using 3" #6.
