Hey everyone, just picked up a Mossberg 195 bolt action 12 gauge off the EE and wondering about shooting slugs through it.

It's a smooth bore with C-Lect choke on it, 26 1/2" barrel.

Anyone else have/had one of these and shot slugs through it?

Take off the choke before shooting slugs - for the choke's sake. :)

P.S. How'd you like the size of the bolt compared to, say, an Enfield's? ;)

Bolt feels a bit chunkier then an Enfield. especially in the bolt knob an rod thickness. Just feels bigger.

Now question for people that own/owned one of these, how do you get the firing pin out?

Theres bunch of grime in there and I want to clean it. I figured out to unscrew the end cap, but after that I don't know.

The rotating part inside the firing pin housing is what I'm stuck on.

Thanks.

Pictures.

Well just got in the door back from Port Coquitlam Rod & Gun an I gotta say I LOVE this gun!!!

It loves slugs. To shoot accurate you really gotta have your eye right next to the stock just about, but damn it's fun.

Best $100 I ever spent on a gun!!!

Me and my friend have been wanting to make a bolt action slug shotgun sniper rifle. I was eying up that shotgun when it was on the EE, but decided to wait and get a rifled barrel.

No need to fully cycle. Just operate the bolt to the raised position then bring it back down.

Cocks on opening.

The cheap way!!!!!!!!!!!!! Muwahahahaha

Bubba's buddy! I was considering a saddle-scope mount, but figured it wouldn't fit...what scope is that, anyhow?

I like this as a truck gun, but unsure if it's a keeper for me...wood's lovely, though.
