They will have to be pinned as they are .308 ar mags. .308 pistol mags may soon be available but for the moment they will have to be pinned to 5 rounds.

Mossberg's website DOES NOT SAY they are m14 mags.

what they say is that m14 mags- and other mags- will fit the rifle.

"7.62mm NATO/308 WIN accepts both M1A/M14 as well as LR-308/SR-25 style mags"

What is it you're trying to say then? Since there's no .308 Win. AR based pistol on the market, then all mags for this rifle will be pinned to 5 rounds.

No they take a specific and unique MVP 10 round mag, they also accept M-14 and AR10 mags.

The factory MVP mag, which is purpose designed for a bolt action rifle, should not need to be pinned.

Factory MVP mag is a D&H SR25/LR308 10 round 308 mag (This mag will fit all 308 AR platform rifles) must be pinned. sorry !

The website says in part:
accepts both M1A/M14 as well as LR-308/SR-25 style mags
not that those are the magazines it ships with.

Now if you've got confirmation from Mossberg or another source that in fact they ship an LR-308 or SR-25 magazine with the rifles, I stand corrected and thank you for the clarification.

And Mossberg may well do that as a cost savings rather than designing their own magazine.

But I don't think it actually says that, at least not that I've found... yet.

Sorry big pics. I have NO confirmation from Mossberg, but ....

How does an M14 mag lock up in the MVP?
It doesn't look like the M14 mag has the holes for a magazine catch.

"Just a heads up guys. Unless your not aware, in Canada, if a magazine is designed and marked for a bolt action rifle, it happens to hold more than 5 rounds, and it just happens to fit another rifle, it is legal. If your magazine for the MVP is marked that it is for that rifle, you might just have a rather large market for such a magazine in Canada, if the 10 and 20 round magazines just happen to, by total coincidence of course, fit the Norinco M305.

If they are not built primarly for the MVP 308, and are not marked as such though, they will be limited to 5 rounds.

Thought you may want to know, ###X ######"

I sent this to Mossberg, I hope that it gets to someone.
