Hi all,
A few years ago I bought a rifle via an online auction. I was looking for a toy to play with and this one looked interesting so ... yup a couple bucks outta the old bank account and I own it. It was advertised as a Mossberg 44US, and it definitely is part of that model type group, but there are NO markings on it anywhere that is visible with the stock on. It has NO makers name, no model and no serial number (that I can see). It has a click adjustable peep rear sight that swings out of the way. It has a front sight with four swing-up type of peep targets covered by a slide-on hood. It has a black plastic trigger guard. It has a metal guard over the ejector port and it has two holes drilled and tapped into the receiver? for a scope, but it has no dovetails. It came with two magazines, one open for 22-LR and one pinned out for Shorts. I'll get some pictures tomorrow, but I am curious to know if Mossberg ever sold rifles without their name on it. This thing is heavy, has a bull-barrel on it and is a tack-driver in the most awesome way ..... one round after another thru' the same hole.

Anyway ... any thoughts on the lack of markings?

cheers,

John
