Mossberg 500 18.5" security barrel with slugs

Hi,

Can you use this barrel to fire foster slugs accurately? I'm thinking of mounting a scope on the receiver and using the shorter barrel for slugs out to 50 yards. Do you think this would work?

50 yards shouldnt be too bad with those riffled slugs, but youll have to find ones that ur barrel likes.., but thats about it, and as for a scope, why bother??? its 50 yards, if anything slap a set of ghost rings on and call it good, ps ever seen a scope on a shotgun with a 18.5 inch barrel.... no? probably a reason for that

It'll work out to 100 yards.

I'd suggest that you also consider an EOTech.

Buy a few brands of rifled slugs and see what ones perform best in your gun then stick to that brand.
