So to help I have provided links above. For 400$ range these seam to be a amazing bang!! (pun intended) for the buck including 2 barrels and chokes. What I can read they are a solid shotgun as well. But that said I am new to shotguns and so is the Wife. The idea is a Birthday gift for the wife (cant beat a wife who wants a gun :dancingbanana: ).

So purpose, jack of all trades shotgun, Ie range, skeet/trap shooting, and hunting (birds and deer, deer because in southern Ontario most places require a shotgun or black powder to hunt deer). Wife wants the gun to be wood stock and such so this fits the bill.

So is this a good toy for the cost for a first time shotgun buyer who wants a jack of all (master of none of course), that will just work well for my Wife.

Besides that there is the 500 or 535, my understanding is 500 is upto 3" while 535 is basically the same but upto 3 1/2". From my understanding there is not much need for 3 1/2" shells but sometimes some good sails can be had and such and it could be useful to have it if your buddy next to you has extra shells in that size. So besides the longer slide of the pump action is there nay down side to getting the 535 instead of the 500 ???

And for a last point, anyone know of any sales for these shotguns on the go. I hate playing full retail and love a sale. so if anyone has a lead on better price then bass pro (cabelas is near me but there site only shows it in synthetic stock and as stated wife would want the wood stock).

Also any other opinions and help in this you may have is welcome.

I have the 535 combo and love it .only shoot the 3.5 inch shells for turkeys .so it is nice to have the option .great shotgun for the money Dutch

Same as i have a 500 3-barrel set, first shotgun i bought and still the best. Only had my safety loosten off and lost the detent ball under it, so i replaced with a stainless screw, cut it to length and blue loc tite. 3000+ rounds so far through it.

I put the oversized safety on my 535 and just love it .never notice the longer stroke off the 535 I have a 400 as well not a lot difference Dutch
